Jet couldn't help but grin. Finally, the day had come. His bags were now packed, he was completely dressed, and he had everything else he would need to take with him. It was time for his journey around Johto to finally begin at last. He was currently in his room, double checking to make sure he didn't forget anything. He checked the PC in the corner of his room. Yup, he grabbed the Potion that was in there. He checked all around. He'd turned his television off, as well as the game system that was there at the time. He made sure that everything electronic was turned off--a bit of a hobby he'd developed--and finally made his way downstairs now that he was satisfied. After going to various Pokemon Academies and schools for so long, he was more than ready to get his journey on the road at last. As he came downstairs, he was met by the four members of his family other than himself. They bid the usual farewells that one would expect from the family of somebody who was leaving to go his own way.
His father told him to be careful, and, above all else to have fun and stay safe. His mother had reminded him to stay safe and to remember to always love his Pokemon, no matter what happened, while also repeating everything that his dad had said. He grinned, knowing that he had his entire family's support and walked out of his door. Sure, he was sad about leaving his family behind, but the excitement that he was feeling about finally starting his journey blotted out the negative emotions. Besides, he was waiting for this moment all of his life. And now it was going to happen. He started down on the road towards Professor Elm's Lab. He couldn't wait to get his journey started.
It wasn't long before he arrived at the large building that was Elm's Lab. He swallowed hard. He had been thinking of what Pokemon he wanted to get as his Starter, and he knew exactly what it was that he wanted. Chikorita was immediately discounted. But it was close between Totodile and Cyndaquil. But, he wound up picking his favorite out of the two, Cyndaquil. Now all there was to do was wait for Professor Elm to give him his Pokemon.
